ABOUT THE ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR
RoseMary Grand Chapter (RGC) of the Order of the Eastern Star was established in 1974 and continues to stand as a steadfast symbol of faith, sisterhood, and service across the state of Texas. With chapters in both Houston and Dallas, RGC is home to more than 150 active members dedicated to strengthening their communities through acts of charity, leadership, and compassion.
As a Grand Chapter under the Order of the Eastern Star (OES), our foundation is built upon timeless principles of charity, truth, and loving-kindness. The Order of the Eastern Star is a Masonic-affiliated organization that welcomes both women and men who are committed to improving themselves and serving others. Rooted in biblical teachings and moral guidance, OES promotes high ideals of virtue, integrity, and service.
Our members believe in being pillars in the community, working to uplift others through outreach, mentorship, and support. Over the years, RoseMary Grand Chapter and its subordinate chapters have hosted numerous charitable initiatives — from scholarship programs and youth mentorship to senior citizen outreach and community service projects — all designed to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.
Today, as we continue to grow and evolve, we remain anchored by our guiding values: faith, hope, charity, and love. RoseMary Grand Chapter is more than just an organization, we are a family bound by purpose, service, and a shared commitment to leaving a lasting legacy of light in our communities.
R.W. Jason Ryan Gibbs, 33ºGrand Worthy Patron R.W. Jason Ryan Gibbs, 33º, is a proud native of Houston, Texas, whose life and leadership reflect an enduring commitment to faith, family, and service. A respected figure within the Masonic community, Brother Gibbs has earned a reputation for his steady guidance, thoughtful leadership, and passion for uplifting those around him. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business, with a concentration in Information Systems, from the University of Phoenix. Professionally, he has devoted more than two decades to the medical field, where his work has been marked by integrity, compassion, and a strong commitment to excellence. His professional background has equipped him with a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and people-centered leadership that he brings to every aspect of his service. Beyond his professional and fraternal roles, Jason finds true joy in his family. He is the devoted husband of Sister Sonya Gibbs and the loving father of three sons, whom he deeply cherishes. Together, they embody the values of love, faith, and family that he so often champions. In his leisure time, Brother Gibbs enjoys traveling with his family, exploring new cities and cultures, trying new restaurants, watching live sports, and reading and learning new things. His curiosity and zest for life mirror the same dedication he brings to his work, fraternity, and community. R.W. Her journey within the organization has been marked by unwavering commitment and leadership. Over the years, Hazel has served in various prominent roles within the Grand Chapter, contributing her expertise and dedication to the organization's growth and prosperity. Hazel exemplifies the highest ideals of the Eastern Star. Beyond her impressive commitments within the Order, she is a loving mother to three and a proud grandmother of three, cherishing her family as the foundation of her life. In addition to her involvement with the Order of the Eastern Star, Hazel is a successful entrepreneur, owning six McDonald's franchises. Her business acumen and dedication to her community are further testament to her remarkable character. Hazel K Smith is widely recognized as a beacon of wisdom and grace within the Order of the Eastern Star. Her passion for giving back to the community and guiding others on their journey to the East is truly inspirational.
